Quantitative Analyst required for financial institution based in central London. My client, a niche Hedge Fund, is looking to add to its already able quantitative analyst team in 2012, with strong PhD graduates in mathematical or statistical subjects being top of their list.

You will require a strong 1st class degree in mathematics or statistics and a PhD in a related subject from a top-5 university (although a Masters from Oxford or Cambridge might be acceptable). On top, you will require straight As at A Level, with S-Levels and Olympiad Students preferred.

If your research focuses around patters and anomalies in large, dirty data sets, these positions might be of particular interest. An interest in the finance industry is essential, although no prior experience is required.

The position does have a technical aspect, and coding, preferably with C++ will be essential to your role. You should demonstrate a strong ability with technology, on top of your mathematical or statistical ability.
