Quantitative (Quant) Analysts develop quantitative products to inform financial institutions which are engaged in saving, lending, investing, borrowing or managing risk. They use quantitative methods to help companies make business and financial decisions. Investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, and insurance companies all employ quant analysts, to help them identify profitable investment opportunities and manage risk. They also investigate methods for financial analysis to create mathematical models used to develop improved analytical tools or advanced financial investment instruments.
