Data Scientist (NLP / Speech) – Remote

We’re partnered with a fast-scaling SaaS startup using AI to build intelligent, language-driven products. They’re looking for a Data Scientist with a strong background in text, language, and speech analytics to help shape data-driven features across their platform.
What you’ll be doing:

Analysing large text and speech datasets to extract insights and drive product decisions

Developing and evaluating NLP and language models for tasks such as classification, summarisation, search, and intent detection

Working with LLMs to prototype and improve language-driven features

Supporting speech-related use cases including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and conversational data analysis

Collaborating with engineering and product teams to turn data insights into customer-facing functionality

Designing experiments, metrics, and validation approaches to measure model and feature performance
What we’re looking for:

Strong experience with Python and data science tooling

Hands-on experience with NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g. Hugging Face, spaCy, PyTorch, TensorFlow)

Experience working with LLMs (prompting, evaluation, fine-tuning, or experimentation)

Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation

Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice to have:

Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, or semantic search

Exposure to MLOps or model lifecycle management

SaaS or B2B product experience
