Lead AI Research Engineer required for an early-stage, well funded and ambitious start-up to lead a world class team and shape the direction of the businesses AI capability. This is a leadership role where you’ll balance team building, technical strategy, and hands-on development. This is an opportunity to join a business at a crucial period of the businesses journey and have ownership and autonomy from day 1.
About you:
- MSc or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics or a related STEM field
- 5+ years of relevant experience researching and applying modern AI / ML frameworks
- Previous experience managing AI Engineers / Researchers and building engineering teams
- Strong coding skills in Python, Rust, C++, or Java.
- Well published from top-tier conferences/journals (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR, ICRA, ICCV)
- Excellent communication skills to share ideas across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for applying AI pragmatically to solve tough problems.
- In office by default and looking to join an exciting project from the early days
