Electronics Test Automation Engineer

A Cambridge-based telecoms outfit are hiring an Electronics Test Automation Engineer to help transform manual hardware verification into scalable, high-quality automated test solutions. This is a hands-on, automation-led role working on advanced radio and electronics platforms within a collaborative R&D environment.

What you’ll do
• Execute manual tests on prototype and development hardware
• Design and build Python-based automation frameworks and scripts
• Convert manual test procedures into repeatable automated workflows
• Capture, analyse, and report measurement data
• Debug failures and collaborate with electronics and design teams
• Drive improvements in test efficiency, reliability, and coverage

What we’re looking for
• Strong Python and proven test automation experience
• Experience interfacing with lab equipment or external devices via software
• Comfortable working hands-on with hardware in a lab environment

Nice to have
• RF or wireless awareness (LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, etc.)
• CI/CD for hardware testing
• Familiarity with common measurement equipment

RF expertise is not required — training and mentoring will be provided. This is an opportunity to take ownership of automation solutions end-to-end and grow your technical depth within an innovative engineering team.
